About DMS Fleet Services

DMS Fleet Services was established by Rob Gorton in July 2012. Rob’s aim was to provide local haulage companies with a high quality maintenance at a fair price. Working from a mobile support vehicle Rob began to build a trustworthy reputation with many local companies.

Our first commercial garage opened in Oswaldtwistle, Accrington. In January 2014, following continued growth, DMS Fleet Services moved to a large purpose built heavy goods vehicle repair garage, and this is where we remain. The garage has three full length bays and the capacity to house all types of vehicle, from small vans to large double deck trailers. It is fully fitted with all the latest technology, including state-of-the-art brake roller testing, Truckfile online vehicle safety record management, full TEXA diagnostics and mobile HGV lifters.

We now provide services such as tail-lift servicing, LOLER certification and weight tests. In July 2014 we opened DMS Truck Rentals Ltd and currently have a fleet of eight tractor units which are available for long and short term hire.

Our workforce has expanded and our team now includes another highly skilled HGV technician, who has over 20 years experience working for a main dealer, and a new apprentice. Employing apprentices helps us to ensure our future workforce continues to be the best by providing exceptional hands-on training and sharing with them our value for high quality workmanship.

Rob Gorton

Director - HGV Mechanic

Rob has over 20 years experience working in a commercial garage and is certified to conduct tail lift inspections. He has a diverse career background and a broad range of experience working on many different types of vehicle, including; large HGV fleets, construction and plant machinery, and farm vehicles. It’s difficult to find a vehicle Rob can’t fix but he likes to be challenged!

Clare Gorton

Accounts Manager

Clare has been with the company from the beginning and runs all customer and supplier accounts. She is the main point of contact for your accounts department, so hers is a good number to have! She also provides general administrative support to the workshop and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Jon Barlow

Mechanic

Jon qualified as a HGV technician in 1993 and since then has work for a main dealer before joining us in October 2014. A fantastic addition to the team, Jon has exceptional knowledge of on-board telematics and on-board vehicle electrical systems. Highly trained and highly skilled, Jon is a firm example of the quality workforce we will continue to build, ensuring our customers receive the same high standard whoever carries out their repair.

Henry Comberbatch

Apprentice Mechanic

Henry started with us in July 2014. He is in his second year of an IMIAL Level 2 diploma in HGV maintenance and repair. His qualification is provided and supported by Training 2000 and he attends Blackburn College one day per week. He has made an excellent start and has had a keen interest in HGVs from a young age - following in the footsteps of his uncle, Mark.
